Alina Mulyukova

Alina Mulyukova joined KCG as a Research Fellow in June 2020. She is also a PhD Researcher in the Research Center “Global Division of Labour” at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Her primary research interests are the economics of migration, labour market impacts of globalization as well as innovation economics and its impact on firm performance. She will join Prof. Holger Görg, Ph.D. (KCG Managing Director) and Cecília Hornok, Ph.D. (KCG Fellow) to carry out the KCG Project “Special Economic Zones (SEZs): A Force for Good to Reduce Inequality”. The project aims at evaluating the implications of such SEZs for development as well as their impact on the social and economic inequality using micro-level data for individuals, households and firms.

Mulyukova studied Economics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich at a Master’s level and at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at a Bachelor’s level. Before joining the Kiel Institute and KCG, she worked as a research assistant at the Center for Industrial Organization and New Technologies at the ifo Institute and at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition.
